West Shaw Farm offers permanent boarding for maiden, barren, in-foal, and foal-at-foot mares. We partner with the highly respected Equine Reproductive Services (ERS) to provide all reproductive care and treatments, ensuring your mares receive top-quality veterinary support. For day-to-day veterinary needs, we rely on the trusted team at Baker McVeigh. With our own transport, we can walk mares in to stud farms across the UK and Ireland. This not only offers flexibility but also reduces the risk of infection or disease transmission—particularly important when young foals are involved. For all permanent boarders, we manage the entire process on your behalf. This includes vaccinations, routine farrier visits, worming programmes, and any required registrations, giving you complete peace of mind.

West Shaw Farm offers seasonal boarding tailored to a variety of needs—whether your horse requires box rest, rehabilitation, or simply a restful break. We provide a selection of box sizes to suit individual horses, along with access to grass paddocks, all-weather turnout, and indoor turnout. These options are especially valuable for horses recovering from injury, ensuring comfort and continuity of care throughout their stay. For added welfare, all stables are fully covered by CCTV, and each barn is fitted with automatic daylight-hour lighting to help promote healthy coats and to promote the mares to come into season.

West Shaw Farm provides a comprehensive sales preparation service for all major sales, covering foals, yearlings, and horses in training. Our facilities include lunge rings, horse walkers, and grass paddocks for hand-walking—ensuring every horse is conditioned and presented to the highest standard when they step into the sales ring. In addition to preparation, we offer expert advice and trusted representation at major UK and European sales for those looking to acquire quality bloodstock.
